Carl Pavano teams up with Pitch In For Baseball
The Babe Ruth league in Ludlow, VT was hit hard by the effects of Hurricane Irene. Two fields were destroyed and the storage shed that held equipment received major water damage. Every piece of equipment from balls, bases, pitching machines and uniforms was either swept away by the flood waters or damaged beyond repair.
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Carl Pavano makes his offseason home in Ludlow and saw an immediate need to step in. “It was a true team effort. With the added support of the Major League Baseball Players Trust, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund and Pitch in for Baseball, the town of Ludlow will get the equipment back they lost in this disaster and come spring the fields that were flooded out will be back into shape giving the kids a place to laugh, smile and play.”
Youth baseball makes a comeback in Japan
With the generous financial assistance of the Major League Baseball Players Trust, Pitch In For Baseball has helped the tsunami-affected school and Little League programs in Japan.
There to help distribute the equipment was current Milwaukee Brewers pitcher and Ishinomaki native, Takashi Saito. "I am honored to represent my fellow Major Leaguers in presenting the equipment to the youth of Ishinomaki," stated Takashi.
"I am truly grateful for the support the players have pledged to my native land, and on behalf of all players I can say we look forward to doing more in the future to help recovery efforts and to ensure that people around the world don't forget that so much more needs to be done before life returns to normal."
South Joplin Little League gets back on the field
The devastating tornado that struck Joplin, Missouri made a direct hit on South Joplin Little League and the families who play there. More than 250 children "lost everything". Pitch In For Baseball stepped up to help replace the missing equipment, with our donation arriving a mere two weeks after the tornado. A special thanks to founding Board Member, Brad Korman, and his circle of family and friends for providing the financial support to sponsor this important donation.
With the help from the donation, the league resumed play the same day the equipment arrived. To read more about our donation to Joplin, click on the link below to read the article that was posted on MLB.com.

Donation to Dominican Republic puts gloves on bare hands
Thanks to the trip made by Haile Rivera and Hands On New York Inc. to Ocoa, Dominican Republic, Pitch In For Baseball was able to help children without the equipment needed to play. With only seven gloves and four baseballs, the La Cienaga league players were thrilled to receive the donation.
Lost Boyz find the donation helpful
Because of Pitch In For Basaeball, baseball is reviving in areas of Chicago where the youth face serious social, family and personal issues, as a result one can find little to no trace of America's past-time among it's children. On behalf of the executive committee, coaches, staff, volunteers, players, parents, and residents we would like to thank you for your generosity and support. The Patriots, Eagles, Mavericks, and Sox would especially like to acknowledge your sponsorship of their teams, and thank you for providing this special group of youth with equipment.
Dually, as the league's President and Patriots manager, I can personally testify to the gratitude and sense of pride the team exhibited knowing Pitch In For Baseball took an interest in them and action towards correcting the social state of our community; and for this you have transfused confidence and integrity into some who have not experienced these attributes.
We look forward to your continued support of Lost Boyz Baseball as we look to improve our league and build a legacy of tradition, sportsmanship, and fantastic baseball among the underserved youth of Chicago.
LaVont'e Stewart Sr.
President of Lost Boyz Baseball League
